Beau + Ilimari | Hilton Aruba Wedding

Last year we got the initial email from Ilimari outlining what her and Beau wanted for their wedding day in Aruba. Of course we replied with a great news that we were available should they wish to have us capture the day. They then informed us that they were planning a site inspection trip to scope out the venue and meet with their vendors they had chosen for their February wedding. We immediately hit it off during the meeting and the conversation quickly strayed away from wedding planning and more into a conversation between friends.  For us this is a key moment in setting the tone for the wedding day.

Fast track to February 22nd 2020, aka Go Time! We arrived at The Hilton Aruba about an hour prior to schedule. We do this as our golden rule. Too early equals on time.. Why so early you ask? Well this allows us to inform the planner that we are there and they need not to stress  about us arriving late or not arriving at all. We knew they were exchanging gifts so we went to the bride’s room first to collect his gift. Back to the groom’s room where the guys were simply chilling waiting for our arrival. The rooms at The Hilton are awesome for photos and the right size for our liking. Not too big and not too small. Just right. The Hilton’s beach is quite vast and the lay of the land offers quite some interesting photo op spots. You want a waterfall in your photos? Hilton has you covered.

That day was perfect for their wedding, just enough sun peeking through the clouds to create the most amazing golden light. Yet not too much sun to make it too hot and squinty. We love it when mother nature lends a helping hand. The ceremony was delivered very well by the officiant, and it was very personal to the bride and groom. They had a sand ceremony to symbolize their unity, a popular ceremony event for beach weddings. After some formals on the beach we took some for the couple as well. Sunset photos were a key  request from them and we delivered.

The reception was held on the pool deck area and featured the popular live band Joyride. These guys play superb and kept the guests very well entertained throughout! We were not there the entire reception as we informed the couple that it was not essential to have us that long on the wedding day. Us leaving early meant that they had about an hour or so left of time from us which they used to do a post wedding session. A few days later we picked them up from the resort and went behind the light house on the nor coast to capture even more images.

– Congrats to the happy couple
