Matt and Moriah Celebrate their Love in Paradise

Our Wedding Celebration in Aruba

This Wedding Story started back in highschool where they met each other. We photographed their engagement session in Aruba  December 2021.  Who would have thought that that was going to be the beginning of an amazing friendship? They eventually booked us to capture one of the most special days in their journey of life together. Their wedding was at  The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Aruba with about 85 of their closest friends and family. Enjoy the ride!

PS: You might see their 100 pound Pitt-Bull George hanging out at the ceremony.

The Engagement Session

They wanted something not even close to what it would look like if they photographed these back in their neck of the woods. So we took them behind the California Lighthouse and Arashi Beach… of course with 2 bottles of champagne.

The Creative Session

Gotta Love it when a vision comes to life. Mary-Ann took control of the styling and Sebastian from Little Island Stories suggested for us to get  a retro VW Beetle. #nostalgia. We photographed these in the center of Downtown Oranjestad and combined it with a quick visit toTaste My Aruba, An authentic, family-owned, farm-to-table and sea-to-table restaurant. And a third spot with plenty of greenery to add some variety and of course a dress swap for Moriah. We always want something just a little different for our couples. Matt and Moriah absolutely loved our thought process behind everything.

Aruba has alot to offer. So why not photograph in The Main street? The vibe we had for the photos was more towards the vintage vibe and the surrounding buildings are as well so everything fit perfectly.

The Groom

After arriving to the venue we first started with the groom prep photos. One we could tell you about them is that they love a good time.

The Bride

When we got to the bride’s room Mary-Ann led the way and made sure everything was ready to be photographed and Filmed. #teamwork.
Moriah and girls made it very fun and easy to get the shots we needed for them… that bottle of champagne showed up again. Of course Moriah opened it like a champ. Wait till you see her dancing shoes for the night!

Mom and her two girls

We have been seeing plenty of first looks with dads recently… We love the idea of doing these. Just look at Dad’s reaction. This is also a perfect time to gift something of course.

The First Look

We asked the couple tell us in their own words what was going through their minds right before their first look.
The couple said:I think we were both a bit nervous before the 1st look, especially having spent the night apart. Going into the 1st look we both felt a sense of relief that we finally get to see other and then became overwhelmed with excitement once we locked eyes. It was a magical moment I know neither of us will ever forget.”

Matt: “While the dress was gorgeous, Moriah is what stood out the most. Her beautiful face and olive brown tan were glowing as I turned around during the first look – perfection. The dress, her makeup, hair, and jewelry all made her look like an actual princess.

Moriah: I actually helped Matt pick out his suite so that was much of surprise to me. But seeing him all dressed up, emotional and about to become my husband was magical. He looked so handsome and sharp.

Bridal Party

We love it that we were able to capture the bridal party photos prior to the start of the ceremony. The location was perfect! This way we can have more time left over for the couple right before sunset.

The Ceremony

As photographers we always wonder what teh couple is thinking about right before they walk down the aisle.

They said: “It’s so HOT! Just kidding, while it was very hot, we could barely notice anything beside each other. Neither of us even remember the music playing while walking down the aisle because we were so focused on each other. We had our best friend marry us which made it all even more special, hearing him speak about us as a couple and exchanging our own vows made the the ceremony feel so us and authentic.”

How cool are these bubbles?

We were blown away with all the repeated positive feedback from our guest. Everyone was so happy and excited to be a part of our special day. We had about 85 guest. The day started with the ceremony on the beach with a live violinist (what an amazing backdrop!!), cocktail hour on La Vista patio with a saxophone player, reception on the beach (my favorite part of the decor) and ended with an after party in the grand ballroom. It was just a continuous party and the dance floor was never empty!

The Decor

One thing that stood out for documenting this day was the fact that The bride and groom wanted to visit their reception area prior to everyone getting there to take in all the planning they had done for the past 2 years. The decor was absolutely stunning. Wow! Everything was so well thought out. Isn’t it cool that they got to see their setup before?

The Reception

The couple:”1000% better then we could have ever imagined. Everything was perfection and we had such a fun time celebrating with each other and all our guest.
It goes by so quick! You spend so long planning your perfect day and poof in what feels like a moment it’s all over. Take it all in, enjoy it, be in the moment and don’t stress the small stuff. Oh and of course get a great photographer who will capture all these moments so you can relive your day over and over.
